Description

It didn't seem finished so I added another layer of shading :)

Commission for *Angelfonds of her character Aloki. Did more than was payed for for the fallowing reasons. This was really an amazing picture to draw, I would have enjoyed it without all of this but here's a list of amazing things that have happened in the past 2 days:

-Adopted an amazing design from =KaiserTiger (happens to be from the same batch as this guy)
-Had a conversation with my favorite artist ~emkh which lead to critiquing this (when it was just a sketch) and then featuring my commissions on her tumblr. Having a canversation with her alone would have made my day XD she also faved flashing back to reality, one of my favorite pics
-*tickets fave's cricket's ref
-*iExploded have this pic a redline (again when it was only a lineart)
-I exploded with joy
-the end.

so yeah, good day, good day. This is one of my favorite pics so far.

Edit: almost forgot, referenced from here [link]

okay here we go, critique time.
first off, I would like to say that the right ear looks a little smaller/ differently shaped or positioned compared to the left ear. It might just be me it it seems as if there is something off about the ears when you compare them.

Also, the hind leg closest to the left, I think the foot should be facing the front a little more (as it does in the reference). Also I know you referenced from a snow leopard was it? If the cat in this picture is also a snow leopard, I think it looks a little more muscular and has more weight to it more like a tiger. In the reference, the snow leopard's shoulders aren't as broad and it has a little more lose skin compared to muscle.

As for the background, I feel as if some parts are to 'neat' or 'defined' which does make it a little odd. The ice coming out of the cave for example, the top has a flat smooth look while it should probably have bumps in the top to suit how the ice goes. otherwise it just looks like you erased the top. Also remember that it is an object, objects cast shadows. A bit of a shadow behind it on the left side (because the light-source comes from the right of the object) might give it a little more depth. I see a lot of this 'erased' look in a lot of your backgrounds, just like the top of the ice. making it look a little jagged and less smooth would be good, but also make sure it follows the style of whatever it is that you are drawing.

Also darker shadows under the cat might help it blend in with the picture a little more. try drawing little pebbles or rocks near base of the feet to help it look like it is a part of the picture.

HOPE THIS HELPED.
